The corrugated box industry has long been considered a barometer of the economy. With some signs of firming in demand after a long period of lower volumes,
the paper industry has tried to increase linerboard prices by $50 a ton. Container companies have followed with talk of 8% price increases on corrugated to be effective in July.
So far it's just talk And talk doesn't make a price increase. Corrugated container prices declined 8% in 2001. |
