Industry Prices Down
Are you saving?

Published prices on corrugated linerboard and medium decreased three times during the first seven months of 2001. Linerboard, which had been selling for $470-490 per ton at the end of 2000, is now selling for $440-465 per ton. Medium which was selling for $440-465 is now $395-$430. In addition to the published decreases, the industry commonly discounts prices in when prices are soft. According to Thomas McCoy, President of McCoy corporation, the market is weak, medium is being disounted aggressively and there are prospects for lower prices during the latter months of 2001.

The high volume corrugated purchaser can benefit from these raw material cost decreases. Exactly how much should your cost reduction be for finished containers based upon industry conditions? How do you achieve these reductions? Figuring the potential cost savings is a precise analytical process. Achieving them takes using skills specific to the corrugated industry.Contact McCoy Corporation to find out more about how to realize optimal cost savings.
